EXPO Ferroviaria 2023, in collaboration with TRENORD will feature a real display of rolling stock material in the Outdoor Area Trenord Fiorenza. As a visitor of EXPO Ferroviaria, you have the opportunity to book a visit to see the following rolling stock:
ALSTOM HYDROGEN TRAIN
Alstom and FNM will present the first hydrogen train for Italy at EXPO Ferroviaria.
As a national preview, on EXPO Ferroviaria’s outdoor tracks, you will be able to admire and visit the first hydrogen train in Italy, designed and built on the Alstom sites in Italy for Ferrovie Nord Milano. The train is based on the Coradia Stream regional railway model.
TRAXX DC3
The Traxx DC3, on display at Trenord Fiorenza depot, belongs to the fleet of Railpool, one of the main railway vehicles leasing companies in Europe, which operates in 16 European countries with more than 400 locomotives and is used by Captrain Italia, national operator in freight transport.
The Italian version of the Traxx DC3 takes the name of E.494 and is the latest generation high-power electric locomotive that maximizes energy efficiency, reduces maintenance interventions to a minimum and provides greater load capacity and traction with fewer consumption. One of the most interesting features is its "Last Mile" function, which allows new operational structures that allow its use on non-electrified lines, often present in ports, industrial areas, or terminals.
The locomotive is produced by the Vado Ligure site, which boasts expertise consolidated over the centuries in this segment. There are currently 164 Traxx DC3s sold by Alstom and 102 are in circulation.
E-L0 (Electric – Locomotive)
An innovative green vehicle for the maintenance of railway lines.
E-LO is ECOLOGICAL: thanks to an advanced electrical energy storage system, it eliminates the problem of fumes in tunnels and polluting emissions during work.
E-LO is a MULTIFUNCTIONAL vehicle: the interchangeable accessories allow you to carry out the different activities of a railway construction site (possibility of interchanging cranes, reel unwinders, aerial platform etc..).
E-LO is MODULAR: each system (pneumatic, hydraulic, batteries and the energy generation system) are housed on "extractable drawers" facilitating preventive and corrective maintenance.
E-LO is REMOTE CONTROLLED: a single remote control allows you to move the vehicle, use the crane, the aerial platform and the stabilizers.
Admission To The Outdoor Rolling Stock Display
The site visit lasts up to 1 hour, and is free of charge. Advance booking is required. Please follow the link.
The outdoor area is located next to Rho Fiera Milano. A shuttle bus service operates from the exhibition centre to the outdoor area.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
In order to visit the Outdoor Area you need to register your visit to EXPO Ferroviaria. Once on-site in Hall 9, please follow the signage of the bus stop (Gate 9B). Due to access restrictions visiting slots will be limited. Hurry to book your visit!
