Accreditations and responsibilities
Italcertifer is a notified body of the Italian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with a full capacity of assessing the conformity of components and subsystems in conventional and high-speed railways systems according to EU directives 2008/57/CE and 2009/131/CE of the European railways interoperability. Italcertifer is acknowledged by the Italian Rail Safety National Agency (ANSF) as an Independent Safety Assessor to the Italian Railways and is accredited by Accredia, the Italian official accreditation body, as a Products Certification Body (UNI EN ISO 45011) and Inspection Body (UNI CEI IEC EN/ISO 17020 “A” type). Italcertifer specialistic knowhow is widely recognized in the following fields: all major transport subsystems, rolling stock, traffic signals and controls, TLC, electrification, infrastructures, operation and maintenance and safety in tunnels.
As Accredited Inspection Body we issue reports on inspections and evaluation of safety and functionality of products, services and processes in any way connected with railway transport, and particularly, according to Cenelec EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129 norms, through the project examination, lab and on field tests, civil works and plants construction supervision. In this respect, Italcertifer can perform functionality and saftey tests on component and assess damages to rolling stock.
