ERMES’ communication systems over IP are used a lot also in railways, subways and rapid transit fields replacing gainfully the traditional solutions with analog equipment and cables.
These apparatuses do not require dedicated LAN but the existing one, even shared by other systems. Thanks to the LAN connection and to the use of these systems, it is possible to make remotely, easily and efficiently many functions usually done by the railway operators and leaded this way by a central control room. The centralization of these activities makes possible the rationalization of the crew in the stations which can be notably reduced.
Ermes produces apparatuses over LAN for the following systems:
Emergency call pillars, information pillars and sanitary aid pillars.
Public address system for the diff usion of remote announces to the platforms and the public areas Remote control of lifts and sliding scales
Video surveillance and emergency communications with grade crossings
Emergency calls and Public address in the galleries
Ermes developed also a line of terminals for PIS systems (Passenger Information System) to be installed on the trains and EN50155 specifi cations compliant. The management of these terminals can be easily integrated in management software of third parties thanks to the fl exibility of the control protocol which Ermes puts at its clients disposal.
The above mentioned terminals make possible the creation of the following kind of systems:
Audio and audio/video emergency calls for passengers areas
Public address in passengers areas
Cab console for the management of the communication on the ground and towards the ground
Video surveillance
